We had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of a Preakness themed wedding, set of course, on the day of the Preakness, at the wonderful Tampa Bay Downs.
I love when the couple goes with a flavor for each of their tastes, it adds a nice personal touch to the dessert. This couple even had their son choose a flavor, since we had a vital part of the ceremony as well.
The Bride’s flavor was Chocolate Peanut Butter: chocolate cake, topped with a very peanut buttery frosting, and buttercream black eyed susans.
The Groom’s flavor was modeled after his favorite flavor of frozen yogurt, Caramel Nutella. This was quite a combination! Brown sugar cake, filled with lots of caramel, topped with a nutella cream cheese buttercream.
The third flavor was a new favorite, the S’more: graham cracker cake, filled with chocolate ganache and topped with marshmallow that is toasted!
We also had a special request from the Bride to supply a few vegan cupcakes for a few of the attendants, and of course we accommodated! We made our normal chocolate cake (normally vegan!) and topped with a creamy vegan chocolate buttercream.
